Welcome to Country Lane Quilts, the website of quilt pattern designer and Martingale/That Patchwork Place author Kathleen Tracy.
Scrap quilts from the past have a great appeal for many and if you enjoy making small or scrappy quilts you've come to the right place. Years ago, I fell in love with antique quilts and doll quilts and now I design my own quilts using traditional blocks and reproduction fabrics to make them look like they were created long ago.
If you're a beginning quilter, it's easy to learn the art of quilting today by starting small. Make your own little keepsake quilt for a special doll, to hang on a wall or display on a table or simply give to a friend. Many of my doll quilt patterns introduce quilting to beginners, but even experienced quilters will have fun making these quick projects. If you make large quilts, you'll enjoy some of the larger quilts in my books that also have a feel of the past. Take a journey into history with some of the quilts and projects in my books and patterns or try one of the free patterns here and get started quilting today. You'll be amazed at how much fun it is to actually make a project and finish it.
My latest book, Schoolgirl Sampler, is a delightful book if you love sampler quilts or working with small blocks. See the Books page to purchase a signed copy. If you enjoy sewing along with others, see the Schoolgirl Sampler page to join the Schoolgirl Sampler Facebook sew along group. Sewing along with others is a wonderful way to make this quilt!
Do you love making quits with an antique look? Find out more about my Facebook group below. We're beginning a Fall Sew Along soon and there are always lots of fun projects to work on as well.
